Guided setup, included in your subscription

1

Request setup

Tell us about your accounting system using the form below. We aim to respond within one business day.

2

30-minute setup call

We'll walk through your platform configuration, confirm what you'll need from your accounting admin, and answer any questions about how grant data flows between systems.

3

Authorization & go-live

Your accounting admin authorizes FundMesa in your system — a short, guided session on their side. We target having your integration live within one to two weeks of the request.

Integration setup is included with the Team plan and above. Some accounting platforms (notably Sage Intacct and NetSuite) require API access on your side as part of your existing accounting contract. We'll confirm what's needed during your setup call so there are no surprises.

Why we set up every integration personally

Every nonprofit tracks grants a little differently. Some use a dedicated Grant dimension in Sage Intacct. Others map grants to Projects, Classes, or Funds. Some have custom fields specific to their funders or compliance requirements.

Generic, self-serve integrations make assumptions that rarely fit nonprofit accounting. We set up every integration personally so your grant data syncs the way your organization tracks it — from the first day, not after months of reconciliation pain.

For most nonprofits, the entire setup takes one short call and a few minutes of your accounting admin's time.

Frequently asked questions

How long does integration setup take?

For QuickBooks Online — the integration we support today — we target one to two weeks from your request to a live connection. For platforms on our roadmap, requesting one tells us where to build next, and we'll give you an honest timeline rather than a promise.

Is there an extra fee for the integration?

No — integration setup is included with the Team plan and above (the plans that include the QuickBooks integration). Some accounting platforms require API access on your side as part of your existing accounting contract. We'll confirm whether your current plan includes this during the setup call.

What if my accounting platform isn't listed?

Let us know — we expand our integration roster based on customer demand. For platforms we don't yet support natively, FundMesa includes a CSV import tool that handles most accounting exports.

Will the integration change anything in my accounting system?

No. FundMesa reads from your accounting system and never writes back — the integration is deliberately read-only. Your accounting admin controls all permissions during setup.

Who needs to be involved in the setup?

You'll need access to your accounting system administrator — either yourself or a colleague who can authorize FundMesa in your accounting platform's admin panel. Most nonprofits have their controller, CFO, or finance director handle this step.

What data syncs between FundMesa and our accounting system?

By default: your chart of accounts, grant-related budgets, and actuals posted to grant-tagged transactions. Your existing grant-tracking dimensions (Project, Class, Fund, or custom dimensions) determine how grants are identified in the sync.

Is our accounting data secure?

Yes. FundMesa connects through your accounting platform's official API using read-only credentials by default. We never store your accounting system's password, and you can revoke FundMesa's access from your accounting platform at any time.
